Romano Bongiovanni opened the Bongiovanni
Art Gallery in the prestigious Galleria Viscardi in Viale Ceccarini, Riccione,
in 1969. The Gallery maintained its summer premises for over 25 years, launching
the painter Osvaldo Curandai to national and international success. During
the same period important exhibitions were organised in equally prestigious
settings in major Italian cities (Palazzo Reale in Milan, Galleria Monelli
in Florence - Italy's oldest art gallery - Galleria Sant'Andrea in Parma,
Palazzo Re Enzo in Bologna and on no fewer than three occasions in the Grand
Hotel Baglioni, again in Bologna, in the magnificent DOMENICHINO, TORREGGIANI,
VIGNOLA and EUROPA rooms, Palazzo Pedrocchi in Padua
); they culminated
in the exploit of 1996 when the works of four painters - OSVALDO CURANDAI
, GIOVANNI PINI , CARMELO PUZZOLO and ALVARO - were exhibited at the British
Embassy in Washington D.C. under the patronage of Lord Kerr, ambassador
of the Court of St. James. A familiar presence in newspapers and on television,
the Bongiovanni Gallery is distinguished by its style - contemporary and
classic, but receptive to the constant changes in the art world.
It may proudly boast a highly interesting, varied assortment of artists,
some of whom are presently exhibiting in an associated gallery in Washington.
Complete profiles are of course available for each artist.
In 1990 Paola Bongiovanni opened the main gallery in Bologna, in the old
Galleria Aquaderni, whose first stone was laid in the 16th century. It is
right in the heart of the city, opposite the two towers, and the interior
is completely adorned with frescoes dating from that time. Our Gallery has
eight display windows overlooking an inner courtyard and each year it organises
exhibitions and takes part in art shows.
35 years of experience, professionality , competence and perfect advertising
thru magazines, newspapers, catalogues and TV lead us to have very important
collectors throughout United States and Japan, Europe, Canada and Australia
The Gallery can naturally rely on a competent, committed staff, backed by
an old family tradition cultivating an interest in art rooted in culture
and knowledge.
Our policy is based on a simple axiom, handed down by the irreplaceable
Romano Bongiovanni: "COLOUR, COLOUR, COLOUR!".
All this, combined with a touch of magic, which we always look for in the
painters we choose and have long been proposing to our present (and future)
customers!
